Great Reads

For those of you looking for excellent books for young children (and even for older children--a few of these pose great discussion questions for classrooms), here are some I loved reading in my children's literature course:
The Red Book, Lehman
The Man Who Walked Between the Towers, Gerstein
Actual Size, Jenkins

I also just picked up a book called Oxymoronica (not for class, but for a me-read), which is fantastic because it is a collection of witty, memorable statements that are fun to read, and poignant too!

One of my favorites..."The time to relax is when you don't have time for it." ~Sydney J. Harris

Also one to think about: "Be what you are. This is the first step toward becoming better than you are." ~J.C. Hare and A.W. Hare
